November '08 17th -28th Workshop: Mastering Portrait Drawing Fernando Freitas Director of the Academy of Realist Art Toronto in this one week workshop will take you though the fundamentals of the sketching the portrait. Participants will bring 2 Portrait Photo's light from a single light source. Participants will be working on toned paper using a variety of drawing mediums (graphite, charcoal, carbon, sepia, sanguine). Principles of lighting, shapes, values, edges, will all be addressed to achieve a true sense of form. She runs her own art school ‘ Life-art” in the Western Cape of SA. Many of Leonie’s students have continued their careers as professional artists. We are privileged to have her coming to Cayman to share her knowledge with two workshops. “Learn to paint in 5 days” a beginners workshop, essential for anyone who feels they would love to paint, but doesn't know where to begin.
