The Visual Arts Society is looking for Artists to participate in a unique art exhibition that will be held at the Watler House Studio at Pedro’s Castle over 3 days starting Saturday February 8th closing Monday February 10. The exhibition will feature artist’s works on display for sale that are inspired by music or the artist’s interpretation of music.
VAS has also allocated space at the studio to showcase younger peoples work. Mary McCallum, the Marketing Coordinator who also instructs a kid’s art camp for the Visual Arts Society, states “the interest and participation of children getting involved in the arts has increased over the years and there is a lot of great young talent amongst our younger children and youth. It’s important to give them encouragement and opportunities to grow their interests and talents.”
Over past few years the Cayman Arts Festival and the Visual Arts Society have brought music and visual talents together. This year, in the Celebration of the Cayman Arts Festival 10th Anniversary, they created a one of a kind art event exhibiting the interpretation of music through an artistic visual medium.
The exhibition will be open in the afternoons of Saturday Feb 8 & Sunday February 9, & Monday February 10th. The closing Gala will take place on Monday February 10 from 5 pm – 8 pm. The closing gala will also feature a LIVE musical performance by talented classical guitarist Nathan Barnett, which will feature flamingo; dancers Elina Zavala & Quiana Erb.
This is a great opportunity for artist to get exposure and be part of a community art event. The society has already received some great submission of water colours, ceramics & acrylics on canvas and they are encouraging different mediums. For more information on how to make submission to this art exhibition please contact email@example.com or call 546-9422. The exhibition will have limited space for all categories.
